Launch of Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign
Sep 12, 2024 : ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod | Author:web adminThe Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 cleanliness campaign with the theme of ‘Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata (Cleanliness of nature-Cleanliness of culture)’, was launched at the ICAR-CPCRI. The cleanliness programme will continue from 17th September, up to 2nd October 2024 at the Institute.
Dr. K. Balachandra Hebbar, Director, ICAR-CPCRI, welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory remark, followed by taking the swachhata pledge in Hindi and English by the guests and staff.
Shri. Rajmohan Unnithan, the Honourable Member of Parliament, Kasaragod, launched the program. The importance of the swachhata initiative was elaborated by him during his inaugural address.
Shri N.A. Nellikunnu, Hon’ble MLA, Kasaragod, who was the guest of honour, felicitated the gathering with the message of the need to honour the sanitary workers and the need to initiate cleanliness at household level under Safimitra Suraksha programme.
A talk on effective waste management at household level was delivered on the occasion by Mr. H. Krishna, Coordinator, Malinya Mukta Nava Keralam Campaign, Suchithwa Mission, Kasaragod. He described the need for segregation of waste materials and production of wealth from waste by adopting techniques such as vermicomposting. During the occasion, the sanitary workers of the institute were honoured by the chief guest.
