A training programme on ‘Horticultural techniques for income maximisation from coconut based cropping system’ was organised at ICAR-CPCRI, Regional Station, Kayamkulam, for 100 participants during 15-26 May, 2023 under the SHM project. Trainees included agricultural officials, progressive farmers, students of B.Sc. Agriculture and VHSE.The programme was inaugurated on 15th May 2023 by Shri. Ajith P.S., Deputy Director of Agriculture and PAO I/c, Alappuzha District.

The training session covered the production and protection aspects of plantation crops, spices, medicinal plants, ornamentals, and indigenous and exotic fruit crops. The trainees were also exposed to various microirrigation techniques, organic manures and composting methodologies.

The valedictory function was attended by Mr. Sibi P. Neendisserry, Principal Agricultural Officer and Mrs. Smitha B., Deputy Director Horticulture, Alappuzha district. A training compendium was released during the programme.
