Organized a Field day cum training on 'Arecanut fruit rot management using Mandipropamid (23.4% SC) at Alangar village in Moodbidiri of Udupi district of Karnataka on 16.12.2022 in collaboration with Raitha Janya Farmer Producer Company (FPO). The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Liyo Vaalter Najarath, President of the FPO.

Dr. Vinayaka Hegde, Head of Crop Protection Division, ICAR-CPCRI shared the research experience on Mandipropamid trials for fruit rot management in arecanut with support from Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD), Kozhikode. Mandipropamid as an alternative to 1% Bordeaux mixture in high rainfall zones like Moodabidri, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka was highlighted by him. About 15 -20% increase in arecanut yield by reducing the damage caused by fruit rot disease up to 90% was emphasised. On farm interaction on application of Mandipropamid, application of Trichoderma formulations developed by CPCRI and integrated pest management using EPN, followed by exhibition and field visits were also part of the programme.
