World Soil Day was celebrated at ICAR-CPCRI, Research Centre Mohitnagar on 5th December, 2022. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Asish Chakraborty, Deputy Director of Agriculture in the presence of Sri Alok Mandal, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Jalpaiguri and District Development Manager, NABARD, Jalpaiguri and Dr. Khurshid Alam, Asst. Director of Horticulture, Jalpaiguri. A total of 106 farmers of FPC, FPO (Scheduled caste community) of different parts of Jalpaiguri district actively participated in the celebration. The use of the Soil Sathi analysis kit was demonstrated and soil test-based nutrient recommendation was also given on this occasion.

Distribution of 212 coconut seedlings was done to 106 farmers and another 1240 arecanut seedlings were distributed to 62 farmers belonging to scheduled caste community also on the occasion.
