As a part of the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign, various programmes were organized at ICAR- KVK, Kasaragod on the themes viz., Celebration of International Yoga day, Awareness programme on Balanced Use of fertilizers and Awareness programme on region specific agro-forestry on 21st June 2022.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Anitha Karun, Director, ICAR CPCRI and was chaired by Dr C Thamban, Principal Scientist and Head in charge, ICAR KVK, Kasaragod. The programme was attended by participants comprising of farmers, farm women, rural youth, members of women self help groups under Kudumbashree mission, rural youth under Nehru Yuvak Kendra and other stakeholders.

A lecture-cum-demonstration session on yoga was conducted by Smt Kala Damodar, renowned yoga instructor from Kanhangad.

As part of the awareness programme, Dr.(Smt) Neenu.S, Scientist, Division of Soil Sciences, ICAR CPCRI, Kasaragod handled a session on Balanced Use of fertilizers.

Shri Ashraf, Range Forest Officer, Kanhangad made a presentation on the topic Region specific agroforestry.

Dr Saritha Hegde, Jayashree M P, Dr Nilofar and K Manikantan, faculty members of ICAR KVK, Kasaragod spoke on the occasion.
