As a part of celebration of golden jubilee year of ICAR-CPCRI Research Centre Kidu, a SKCFPCL (South Canara Coconut Farmers Producers Company Limited, Vittal) funded training programme on “Value added products and Neera Tapping in Coconut” was conducted at ICAR-CPCRI Research centre, Kidu on 13/04/2022. Mr. Diwakar, Y., Scientist In-Charge of the Centre welcomed the dignitaries and all the participants of the training programme and briefed the dignitaries about ICAR-CPCRI Research Centre, Kidu. Sh. Prasad Shetty (President, SKCFPCL, Vittal) as chief guest, inaugurated the programme and requested the participants to make best use of training programme. He also briefed the participants about the farmer friendly activities being carried out by SKCFPCL. Sh. Kusum Raj (Vice President, South Canara Coconut Farmers Producers Company Limited, Vittal) was also present as guest of honor during the programme.

Dr. Hebbar, K. B. (Principal Scientist and Head, Division of Physiology, Biochemistry and PHT, ICAR-CPCRI Kasaragod) presided over the function and briefed the gathering about the importance of the training programme. Dr KB Hebbar delivered a lecture on value added products of coconut, neera tapping technique and the prospects of Kalparasa. The programme was attended by about 69 participants, including farmers from nearby as well as distant places. Mr. Diwakar, Y., Scientist-in-charge of the centre conveyed his gratitude to the sponsors, guests, Director CPCRI, farmer participants and others involved in successful conduct of the programme.
