A one day training programme on ‘Scientific Coconut Cultivation’ was organized for the farmers of Krishi Bhavan, Kottayam on 16/03/2022 at ICAR-Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Regional Station, Kayamkulam as part of the ATMA programme. Twenty farmers and 3 officials of Krishi Bhavan attended the training. The training started at 10.00 am and there were sessions on Good Agricultural Practices in coconut farming, familiarisation of varieties and hybrids of coconut, management of pests and diseases of coconut followed interactive session with the concerned scientists. The classroom training programme was followed by field visits to the experimental plots of ecological engineering, evaluation of green dwarfs for RWD resistance, Kalpasankara fertigation trial and coconut nursery. The sessions were handled by Dr. Jeena Mathew, Dr. Indhuja, S, Dr. M. Shareefa and Dr. Merin Babu.
