Internaional Womens day celebration at ICAR-CPCRI

The programme was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and senior most women staff of the institute
Smt.Girija Pathekara, renowned Malayalam poet who focuses on women issues and an active member of ‘Anweshi’ an NGO working for women empowerment, was the chief guest. Smt. Girija Pathekara spoke about the issues faced by women at work place. She said feminism is not confined to women and emphasized the need for mass awareness among both genders. Sri. N.Dineshkumar poignantly recited the poem ’pen konthan’ written by Smt. Girija Pathekara.
The programme was Presided by Dr. Anitha Karun Director, CPCRI. Dr. Anitha Karun highlighted the significance of celebrating international womens’ day. She added this day is important to call the action for accelerating gender parity.
Dr.V.Niral, chair person , women’s welfare committee of the institute welcomed the gathering. She called upon everyone to work for better recognition of women’s contribution to the society and to promote gender parity for a better tomorrow.
Smt.P.Sugatha, Secretary of the committee proposed vote of thanks and Officials and staff from CPCRI attended the meeting .
