In connection with the Swachhta Pakwada celebration, ‘Kisan Diwas’ was conducted at ICAR-CPCRI on 23rd December 2020 at DJ hall. Dr. K. Muralidharan, Principal Scientist inaugurated the function and Dr. Daliyamol, Scientist, welcomed the gathering. 30 farmers attended the function. After the introduction session, a short video was played to the farmers for emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Later, Dr. Daliyamol, gave a lecture to the farmers on the topic ‘Kitchen waste and composting methods’. Different types of waste generated in household and their eco friendly waste management was discussed in detail. Apart from that methodologies in composting and types of composting were well explained to farmers with the help of pictorial diagrams. The discussion was very effective and farmers could gather much information related to composting. At the end, Dr. R. Sudha, Senior scientist proposed the vote of thanks.
