As a part of PM s Over arching scheme for holistic nutrition Poshan Abhiyan being organized across 650 KVKs all over India by ICAR and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India., ICAR - Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kasaragod, ICAR - CPCRI had organized a one day capacity development programme for Aganwadi workers and farm women on 17th September 2020 at CPCRI, Kasaragod

This programme was held as the part of Poshan Abhiyan, The programme was inaugurated by Dr. D Sajith Babu IAS, District Collector, Kasaragod and during his inaugural speech he stressed about the development of nutrigardens in 1348 Aganwadis in Kasaragod district and direct marketing of vegetables and other farm produces by using Subhiksha app in Kasaragod district. Shri. A A Jaleel, Panchayath President, Mogral Grama Panchayath had delivered the presidential address and Smt. Kavitha Rani Ranjith, District Programme Officer, ICDS had felicitated the gathering.

Dr. Aarathi Nair, Medical Officer, Central University of Kerala took a class on the topic “Nutritional Requirements, Balanced Diet and Health”. Shri. K Manikandan, Senior Technical Officer, KVK, also took a class on the topic “Nutrigardens in Homesteds”.

In collaboration with IFFCO, seed kits for developing nutrigarden in homesteds were distributed to the farmers and aganawadi workers who participated in the programme. Dr. K Muraleedharan, Head Social Science division delivered the welcome address and Dr. Manojkumar T S, Head KVK, extended vote of thanks to the gathering.
